"Sognando capelli lunghi" (Dreaming of Long Hair)

Sognando capelli lunghi (Dreaming of long hair) by Mojsi Harka

This graceful sculpture captures the delicate posture of a young girl, frozen in a moment of innocence and play. Her dress, slightly lifted as if caught in a gentle breeze, adds a sense of movement and spontaneity. The artist pays close attention to proportion and detail—the expressive face, the finely sculpted fingers, and the tender pose evoke both fragility and quiet strength.

The addition of the whimsical cap, which is a pair of pants, reminiscent of a playful fantasy world in which a little girl dreams of having long hair, enhances the uniqueness of the piece, blurring the line between reality and imagination. Its white, stone-like surface lends purity and timelessness, allowing it to stand out in both modern and classical interiors.

This piece is not just a figure but a narrative—an exploration of childhood wonder, vulnerability, and imagination.

About the Author:

Born in Albania in 1968, and a graduate of the University of Fine Arts in Tirana, this remarkable sculptor carries within his work the echoes of resilience and reinvention. After leaving his homeland during a time of profound change, he moved to Italy, where he was faced with the challenge of starting anew. From those struggles emerged a deeper artistic voice—one shaped by displacement, perseverance, and the search for beauty amidst uncertainty.

His inspiration flows from the raw poetry of nature: the elegance of felines, the flight of birds, the grace of the feminine form, and the abstraction of human experience. Through these themes, his sculptures embody both strength and fragility, capturing not only the essence of the natural world but also the story of an artist who transformed hardship into timeless creation.
